Hydrogen gas
A highly interesting future product for society that we have been producing at OKG for a long time.
Hydrogen is a simple compound consisting of two hydrogen atoms and is both odorless and colorless. The residual product is ordinary water - H2 reacts with oxygen (O) to form H2O. This means that hydrogen dissolves in the air and becomes harmless. If that sounds a little amazing, just wait, there's more.
Because hydrogen is an energy carrier, just like electricity, and can be used as fuel in a conventional internal combustion engine. One advantage over traditional fuels such as gasoline is that hydrogen produces water vapor during combustion, not carbon dioxide. To use hydrogen as a fuel, electricity or heat, an energy converter is needed. This could be a fuel cell, for example, which converts the chemical energy of hydrogen into electricity.
OKG has had fossil-free hydrogen production since 1992. We use the hydrogen to cool our generators. The surplus production is a business area in itself - it is sold - and the areas of use are several. Hydrogen is a very interesting area, a product of the future, for example for heavy traffic and shipping.
